Went Grey all of a sudden: making the Maysles musical
New York's Playwrights Horizons will make a musical of the Maysles Brothers' Grey Gardens one of four world premieres in 2005-2006. "Michael Greif ("Rent ") will direct the musical inspired by the... documentary about relatives of Jacqueline Bouvier living in a squalid Long Island mansion. Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole (of the recent "42nd Street" and Broadway's current "Steel Magnolias" and Mary Louise Wilson ("Cabaret," "Full Gallop") will star as daughter and mother Edie and Edith Bouvier Beale." The book's by Pulitzer winning Doug Wright; music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie.
