Temporary Blindness

Which high profile Oscar movie does not have the support of the marketing exec who has to sell the darn thing?

Which assumed Oscar-running film is going to be moving out of 2005 to 2006 pretty soon?

What Oscar chaser has some other studio types wondering if there is enough money earmarked to actually release the awards films that have been announced?

What potential Oscar contending title may overcome controversy at home, but is facing extreme resistance in other markets?

Which potential Oscar film turned down an offer to open The New York Film Festival?

(Note: The blindness isn't really temporary. Sight will only return after all of these stories go public.)

I expect #2 is likely "Munich" or "Memoirs of a Geisha."

#4 is probably "Munich" or "Jarhead."

I'll bet #4 is Brokeback Mountain.

My guesses:

1) Ask the Dust

2) Memoirs of a Geisha

3) The Libertine

4) Munich

5) Oliver Twist
