Why can't I get one?

Gee JMc... maybe you can give me a list of what I am allowed to write about... I hate to be such an endless dissapointment to you...

Sorry about the griping.
But you didn't use to be that way. Seems like all you talk about are festival screenings and publicist spats. One has to go down 11 blog entries to find one about movies now playing in theaters.
Maybe it's me.

Is there a movie this weekend you think is worthy of column inches?

Meh... I gotta agree with Jeff on this one. Glad you're excited Dave, but from the outside world it seems like gloating. "Ooohh... you'll now be able to watch free movies on DVD instead of VHS!!!"

As for movies worth writing about - the race for best animated feature is heating up already with Wallace & Gromit. Can In Her Shoes escape the chick flick title (and would it be so bad $ wise if it didn't)? Or will this be the movie that knocks Cameron Diaz's box office track record down a peg.

Seems like you could get a little mileage out of any of those.

Sorry... did Lord of War Monday, SAG Tuesday, Underrated actors Wed and Fri on THB... and whether you've seen them or not, festival movies are movies... and in some cases, me and others writing about them is the only way you will ever gat a chance to see them.

I hear what you're saying, but whatever I do, someone is happy and someone is frustrated. Some people don't ant me to write abot the Oscars, some people don't want fest coverage, some people glaze over on reviews of this weekend's films. I guarentee you there is a "subset" of the blog readership that is very interested in the arrival of Cinea machines in the home of guild and critics' groups members. And just because I wrote it silly doesn't mean that there isn't a piece of news in there.

So all I can really do is write what I feel the urge to write as it comes. I've seen six films this week, but none of them have been appropriate to write about, either because I was given early access with an agreement not to write about films or because they were repeat viewings. But all were choices I am comfortable having made. I saw one of this weekend's films 8 weeks ago, didn't care for it that much, and really haven't been inspired rev up my focus to slap it down.

And now, you have my perspective. I hope not to feel the need to explain it again for a while.

And if you so desperately want to chat up this weekend, I have a blog entry encouraging that. Add something.
