Spitballing Sundance

"I got my Sundance catalog on Thursday and started getting excited about movies... I know… crazy!

First, I broke out the movies I am intensely interested in seeing. I came up with 33 titles."

Argh....going through the Sundance catalog is like trying to figure out what classes you're going to take in college. "If I go to the Eccles to see _____ Monday, then I'll miss ____ and have to see it Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. at the Library. But _____ is playing then and that leaves the press screening at the Yarrow at ______. But if I go there, I'll miss _____ at the Holiday Village and it's not playing again until Friday. But Friday, I have to see____" and on and on. I have to whittle down my list too....fun times.

Sundance is always an interesting festival.

you MUST inform us if "All Aboard! Rosie's Family Cruise" features any scenes from "Riding The Bus With My Sister". That'd be gold if it did.

Weird though that you mentioned "Friends With Money"s women yet forgot the main one - Jennifer Aniston. Good to see Joan Cusack getting back to some good stuff instead of dulling it up in Dullsville USA that has been the last five years of her career.

And I really want to see "This Film Is Not Yet Rated" - the abyssmal catastrophe that is the US ratings system needs it.

Can I ask you what on earth you mean about "Jewboy"?

"Jewboy (Spectrum) - It sounds like a first-film jerkoff rage fest. Lonely despondent Jew who can't deal with father's death seeks Sundance critic to suck up. I mean, geez, the guy actually made a 52 minute film… on purpose! On the other hand, maybe it will be a masterwork. It's the ones that have to be bad that are often the best."

It's a short film from Australia that got quite a bit of press when it came out and got some great reviews. It won AFI awards for Best Short Fiction Film, Best Screenplay for a Short Film and Best Cinematography in a Short Film as well as three other nominations. I never saw the film (will on DVD) but I don't really get what you're saying about it.
