I Kinda Half Watched Dirty Dancing Havana Nights On Satellite...
No wonder it bombed!
The first film was a fantasy for regualr girls. Jennifer Grey was the perfect cute, sex, but imperfect lead with Swayze as the macho female fantasy. What do people always quote from the film? Not sex, but "No one puts baby in the corner." It's emotion.
Tihs film, however attractive Diego Luna is, is a male fanatasy. Giant blonde girl with oodles of money with well place boobs falls for plain looking, poor, ethnic midget.
I'm sure the target marget of men under 5' 7" who want to climb 6' tall blondes LOVED the film.
What were they thinking?

That sounds like an interesting movie. I am going to go see it now based on this blog entry. It sounds a lot more interesting than the first Dirty Dancing, which was a gigantic bore.

I'm sorry but I disagree: gays don't love Diego Luna. I'm sure A LOT like him, but he's not someone who comes to mind when you name actors whom gay people generally love.

I have a great affinity for hot actresses, but that's not a designation befitting Romola Garai. Unremarkable, yes. Disconcertingly white, no doubt. Hot... do you now or have you ever work(ed) for Lions Gate?

I loved the second Dirty Dancing movie. Diego Luna was Steaming Hot.... and Romola Garai was really pretty. Ever since my friend had me watch the movie with her I bought it on DVD. I watch it all the the time. This movie is better than the first one. :)

I took the monetary considerations out of that sentence and Viola! You have Los Angeles on a Friday night in the average club, more likely than Not. (actress hopefuls + director hopefuls)
Actually I watched the movie all the way through and enjoyed it thoroughly. It was almost as good as Lambada/The Forbidden Dance (1990) in a horrific way.
Romola rawks in the statuesque dept. but really never should be in a Dickensian adaptation (Nicholas Nickleby) ever ever again.
