Now, the Italian outdoor one I like. How tough was that?
I forget who said it, but I think the marketing people are trying to make a distinction between Superman Returns and Smallville with the art. The ones they've been putting out here are definitely going for a grand, majestic feeling (or if you're Dave, a gay feeling), that just doesn't seem to be working.

Every new trailer and tv spot seems to touch on a new dynamic to the story in some way. There's a confidence in the ad campaign that, if represented in the finished product, could put this in Spider-Man Land. And as cynical as it may sound, that big spoiler on Jeff Well's site (I can't believe I didn't catch it before!) should probably find its way into the final week marketing blitz.
And I think the lead actor's anonymity is more inviting than distracting... people are getting pretty curious about this fella.
Domestic.

I would take that bet, I think that in a contest between a 'more of what you loved' sequel and a somewhat unknown quantity in Superman, that Pirates will come out the winner by at least $50m domestic and $100m worldwide.
