Amazing Nike Spots
There was a story from Billboard on the wires about a Nike ad in Europe using the Johnny Cash version of the NIne Inch Nails' Hurt and how shocking it was and how it wouldn't be available for viewing in the US.
Haven't they gotten the internet at Billboard?

YouTubre was an easy get, but just another step away was Nike.com's international website where you can see the Hurt ad AND one that is even better in my estimation.

Just click here and when the site opens up, click on "A Little Less Hurt" Or " A Little Less Gravity." That click will open a page with more options... click "The Ads." That will open one... and there iwll be a link to "Watch The Other Ad." Just do that.
And with one more click on "Downloads," you can have your very own Quicktime or iPod version of the commercials... some wallpaper too, if you're into that. (If you download the QT versions, you can make the screen bigger while maintaining pretty good quality.)
These are quality films, as usual, by NIke and Weiden + Kennedy Amsterdam.

Powerful spots - nothing "shocking" about them.

Shocking that there's a guy throwing up in one of them? On television?! What has the world come to.
Neat ads though. Nike always has made sharp spots.

Odd, watching runners vomit is nothing new for network television. Hell, one of them even ran a special segment on an athletes who was famous for barfing on every run. Turns out he was a doctor that often entered triathlons, only to discover that the vomit process during a run only helped the body condition overall, complete with graphs.
Ummm...
Yeah, it stuck with me.

Well, if the people at Nike think showing a guy vomiting all over himself is gonna make me want to buy shoes, they're sorely mistaken.
Maybe a bib..

Barfing works for me. Sign of commitment. (Don't tell teenage girls that, though).

I had the tv on in the background before (while watching Scrubs, I jumped on the computer in the ad break) and I heard the start of "Hurt" come on (the Cash version) and though "ooh the nike commercial" but it turned out to be an ad for a child abuse hotline and then Scrubs came back on and that had Zach Braff's head floating around the hospital and it was all very strange.

Have you folks ever seen one of the best music video of all time?

God yes, that video is astonishing.
If Cash's vocals don't get you then the clip sure as hell will. Stylus named it the #2 clip of all time in their recent(ish) countdown.

One nice ad. Nike really captured the most important moments in an athleted life.
