Borat - The New Trailer(s)
The new American Trailer is 30 seconds longer than the international trailer. There are only a few differences.
1. The international trailer alters the Borat-at-home footage to make it look like a grainy, scratched old movie. The U.S doesn’t.
2. The U.S version includes the segment of the film in which Borat as the “not joke” explained to him. Understandably, as a language joke out of context, this might not play as well overseas. What is included instead in the international trailed is a section in which Borat tries to buy a Hummer and wants to know… well, look at it yourself.
3. Finally, the film suggests you “See America,” while in the international version, it offers a chance for you to “See The Real America.”

This movie's gonna be great.

Unless I'm missing something, that North American trailer is the same one I saw in front of Ricky Bobby...the international one is brand new though (at least online).
Anyhow, I am loving the trailer either way. Both of them. They look to promise sexy time.

I find Ali G to be about as unfunny as David finds Dane Cook. Should I bother with Borat?

Borat's a much funnier character than Ali G...

Apologies in advance, but there's something wrong with you if you don't think Ali G is funny.

I agree with Blackcloud. This still looks really stupid to me, though i'm more likely to see this than Jackass 2.

I thought I was the only one. I watched both trailers in an attempt to find anything funny here and...uh...no.
Admit to not seeing the joke in Ali G either.

The amusing aspects of ALi G's specials in the UK was that many people he encountered "in the field" did not know he was a comedian. His regional visits to Wales and Northern ireland were particularly funny. His best spots were the Alternative Queen's speeches...and defintiely more meaningful than the Monarch's.
Looking forward to Borat, though I expect many Americans might be offended.
It is true Steve Irwin has been killed by a stingray? It almost sounds like a hoax/joke.

Lota, the Steve Irwin thing is indeed true. It's very big news down here. Incredible sad too, definitely a big loss there.
And there's a reason why Ali G isn't really around anymore. People know the joke. Which is why he was funny in the first place. That and SBC was utterly ridiculous as a gangsta rapper.

Yes--that is why ALi G was funny since people thought the "Staines Massif" was real. As Long as Cohen changes his identity periodically he should stay funny.
Aww, too bad about Irwin. He did a big service to education by getting people interested in wildlife and what it does for the planet ( although the footage of he & his child near the gaping jaws of a reptile did make me feel ill).

That'll be a mere footnote compared to all the other stuff he's done though. He did more for Australia too than any number of Nicoles, Keiths, Russells and Naomis.
A lot of people weren't sure it was real here either. A lot of confused "huh"s going around.
There's even an MSN chain going around now that asks people to put a turle emoticle (tu) infront of their screen name out of respect. lol, people have taken it remarkably hard.

btw, if people found Ali G funny, don't see Ali G Indahouse. It sorta made the whole thing completely unfunny. Hopefully Borat goes in the opposite direction.

"Apologies in advance, but there's something wrong with you if you don't think Ali G is funny."
There is something wrong with me, and I don't find Ali G funny, but I don't think they're related. ;-)

I guess there's something wrong with me, too, as I don't find any of Cohen's characters funny. It's gonna take a whole lotta convincing to get me to see BORAT.

Sasha for me is a case of diminishing returns. What is funny in small doses becomes grating in large ones. I hope Borat overcomes that.
