Bob's Sweet On Sweetland

A guy who has been a friend of roughcut and then a friend of MCN over the years in Park City - The Other Sundance Bob - has been shouting on the rooftops about the movie Sweetland for months. So in his honor, here is a link to the YouTubed trailer...

Damn fine film.

Honest, and absolutely a showcase for the lead actress.

Very, very simple, which is its greatest strength.

Really hope they release this in Australia some time. Looks very promising.

BTW, is the music in the trailer from the film or something else? It was beautiful.

Was that a trailer or a condensed version of the entire film? It looks nice (minus that bland trailer voiceover) but I wonder if I really need to see the whole film now.

That was a trailer.

And though it nicely gives an overall look at the film, with the plot outlined (minus the effective modern bookend scenes of the film), don't think you saw the whole film. This is one of those films that delivers its well-earned emotional wallop by the viewer watching all 110 minutes.

I forget whether the music in the trailer is in the film, but here's a link to the great soundtrack:
