...I'm hoping Marty gets his Oscar and STUDIO 60 gets a second season. (And off-topic: President Pelosi!)

Hope for Marty - pray for Studio 60. I think its a series that's going to keep eroding until NBC announces its done sometime in June. It isn't coming together on the whole and it has two disappointing episodes for every decent one. And on a side note, 30 Rock is somehow doing the opposite.

And here's my New Year's Wish: a local movie theater that doesn't just fill its six screens with PG, PG, PG, PG, PG, and G week after week after week. Dammit...

I'm getting my wish generally. Instead of having to wait until June for most of the movies I want to see from 2006 (Marie Antoinette, The Fountain, Pan's Labyrinth), I'm getting them through Jan-March. Yay for that. I might actually get to see all the Oscar movies before, SHOCK, the Oscars.

Well, STUDIO 60's numbers have stabilized after the initial plunge, which was a factor in the back nine getting picked up. It's also the top show in terms of viewer income, as well as the #1 time-shifted show, which according to one source increases its total viewership by 12%. So it's certainly a long shot, but not yet a dead duck.

Not to beat a dead horse, but today's IMDB poll asked which show you'd rather see get a second season. To my surprise, given the hostility, STUDIO 60 beat 30 ROCK, 58.5% to 41.5%. Even allowing for sarcastic votes, that's still quite a margin of victory.
