Toronto Begins
And it couldn't have been a much nicer start than with Juan Antonio Bayona's The Orphanage, exec produced by Guillermo del Toro.
No time to write right now, but it is a classical thriller in the vein of the original The Omen or Rosemary's Baby. And though the third act can't quite deliver on the remarkable promise of the first two acts, it is a solid movie that inspires thoughts about world cinema truly being without borders.

It feels so good to be beack here. Not The Metropolitan, where the staff is rude and the rooms lack internet access. But Toronto, in general. Just not Le Met. It stinks.

I wanted to see the Orphanage, but unfortunately there is schedule conflict, and I have to see Lust, Caution instead. Oh well...
