Blogging The Traditional Way

LESSON POINTS
1. Ad Sales People Who Are Used To Selling At A High Price Point Are Not Going To Be Anxious To Sell Relatively Low Priced Internet Ads.
2. Many Site Owners Have A Grotesquely Exaggerated Notion Of What Their Ad Space Is Worth.
3. Blogs Are Lightening In A Bottle, Better When Brutal, And Very Hard To Sell.
4. Quantity Is Not Quality.
5. Things Change

"The aforementioned Ms Finke is a classic example of someone who was established, but often fired, unable to find a stable home… and in blogging, however much I object to her editorial choices, has found her place in the sun. She was born to being an in-town gossip, slamming and squealing her way to must-read status in many quarters." Seriously Heat, there are few people with the ability to take a shot as well as you. The above shot is damn impressive. Nevertheless; it's barely as good as the TMZ shot. A tip of the cap to your ability to take shots at those who -- occassionally -- have the shots coming.

Actually, I don't see it as a shot at all. Is there something there that isn't fair or misleading as to fact?

i don't think saying Finke has found her place in the blogosphere isn't a shot at all.

by completely abandoning the rules, she's finally been able to find an audience.

And he's right: it won't last. eventually when you spew out enough flame, you wake up one morning and realize every bridge is burned.

The only reason certain behavior was tolerated for so long is that there were only so many outlets to peddle your wares.

those days are over.

the life expectancy of a popular blogger is dropping by the minute. Getting an audience is easy.

1. start a blog
2. find something people love and hold dear
3. piss all over it
4. wait for people to see it and say 'what the hell?'
5. repeat

it can only last for so long. eventually, people tire of the rage.

I am not denying that Heat stated what he stated as anything but HONEST. However; it's still reads like a shot. A shot does not have to be a shot... to be a shot. If that makes any sense. Again... I may be the only one who took it this way. So I apologize for casting aspersions, Heat.

Let me add that the picture that goes along with this Hot Button is pretty damn hilarious.

A great read. Nicely done. I think I'll pack up my shit and move to Montana.
