Lunch With... John Turturro

John Turturro was kind enough to invite us into his home to discuss his film, Romance & Cigarettes, and a whole lot more, including The Coen Bros, Spike Lee, The Jesus, what works and what doesn't, and how he crafts his performances.

Wasn't Romance & Cigarettes made back in the Reagan administration? This film's been sitting around so long that it's developed hemorrhoids.

I love The Turturro, but he's obviously not a very good interview despite obviously loving the sound of his own voice. I don't think DP got to finish a single sentence or question without being cut off.

Still, I think he has one of the funniest performances of the year in Transformers.

"She's a criminal, and criminals are HOT!"

R&C is a pretty spectacular failure. Worst movie I've seen this year.
