Why Does This Feel Like I Am Posting A Hollywood Tuna Entry?

There is something lovely and odd about that moment when the media has a crush on an actress like the media is now crushing on Amy Adams. The most lovely part is that Amy still seems to be keeping her head about her.
The images are from Focus' Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day, due next March.

Actually, I remember the first bloom of the crush at Sundance 2005, when she melted many hearts (including mine) in Junebug. But you're right: It does seem to be reaching epidemic proportions right now.
OK, David "Mr. Broadway" Poland, that's your cue: "Once I had a seeeeeeecret loooooooove......"

Give Amy Adams an Oscar nomination! She totally stole my heart in Enchanted. This is one of the rare times I think the media has it right. Adams can take the job that apparently Rachel McAdams doesn't want.

Is that Josh Hartnett with her in the above pic?
Because then you might be looking at Mrs. Pettigrew Runs For A Week.

Plain, but winsome.

I knew that asshole (Tenenbaums y'all) looked familiar. That's the PIEMAKER himself; LEE PACE. Amy Adams and Lee Pace in a movie? I am there.

Non-Lohan redheads = meh. Pasty and freckly legs don't really do it for me.
But she's still pretty and talented, though again I'll ask why legit critics are foaming at the mouth for Adams in particular, while they're their usual asexual, tweedy selves in the face of all the other, much more stunning leading ladies o' the day. I must've missed Ken Turan's love letter to Jessica Biel.
"But she's beautiful AND can act," you say?
Eh. Like 99% of the population, male and female, I only really care if the chick is hot.
The actual acting is kinda for dudes.

I thought the actor in the picture looked like Joaquin Phoenix with Patrick Dempsey hair. Random.

He actually looks like Peter Lawford. LexG... you are like a 3rd generation copy.

The media loves Amy Adams because she has this old school moviestar quality, and not just some "hot girl" of the 21st century i.e. Jessica Biel.
And Amy Adams is hot.

"LexG... you are like a 3rd generation copy."
I'm assuming, as that's your third or fourth such remark in the last couple weeks, that you're egotistically accusing me of somehow aping YOUR shtick. While I'm ecstatic that my brilliance has finally registered with you, I've been posting here for well over a year, not to mention under various, variant "Lex" monikers on DVD and movie message boards since 2002. And always with the same perspective and pretty much the same personality.
While your absurdist and amusingly prolonged usage of the (intentionally?) unfunny and wack-as-fuck "Heat" taunts, and confrontational demeanor are generally amusing enough to me, I can't say I've otherwise given your posts or personality that much thought, let alone gone out of my way to PATTERN MY *INTERNET POSTING STYLE*, as if anyone in the world gives a fuck, on yours.
Anyway, AA was great in JUNEBUG, seems likable and sweet enough, but she isn't even one of the 50 hottest chicks in movies these days, so no amount of "channeling the old-school movie divas!" (as if any straight guy should care) will convince me she's a more important or interesting actrees than, say, Jordana Brewster or Ashlee Simpson.

Lex: You're right in that IOIO...etc. is in no place to be pointing fingers, but I find your "I'm Really A Witty And Intelligent Woman But I'm Dumbing It Down Because I'm Rock And Roll" schtick a breath of stale air. You're both trying too hard. Your last post about not giving a shit about Adams' thespian qualities because "acting is for dudes" and how you really only care if someone's hot...it's a little juvenile. You wanna defend Ridley Scott, fine; we all have our weaknesses. But stop trying to pretend like plastic and surface is cool, and for god's sake, don't even call attention to the fact that you even have an "internet posting style". This is no place to get all meta.
And for the record, I think "Miami Heat" is pretty funny, and not in that forced benzedrine bullshit way with which you're peddling for street cred.
