Cheating On My Own Top 10
It's funny. I voted for BFCA nominations and the Village Voice/LA Weekly poll right at the deadlines a while back... and I really wasn't prepared for either. But one puts their best foot forward.
As a result, my VVM poll Top Ten is not embarrassing, except for that it is quite different than my final list.
1. I'm Not There
2. Michael Clayton
3. Lars and the Real Girl
4. No Country for Old Men
5. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
6. Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
7. Rescue Dawn
8. Into the Wild
9. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
10. Juno
And that really is the kind of year it has been. I don't really know why I left Lake of Fire off this 10 when I voted it Best Doc. I don't think I knew that Day Night, Day Night wasn't released until 2007 until I charted things with the box office info. And Rescue Dawn and Into The Wild and Sweeney and Juno in for The Savages and Superbad and Ratatouille is really dancing on the head of a Top Ten pin for me.
Anyway... a curiosity...

You can put this as a special feature on your top 10 DVD...

Wow, CK Dexter Haven you have unsuspected depth! I'm Not There, how cool! That's awesome. What a great list.

Hahah, I've only seen three of those (Into the Wild, Michael Clayton, and got back from NCfOM an hour ago). Looks like a good enough list, I guess.

Wow, we actually have a couple movies in common this year in our top 10 (4!), which is pretty amazing... and I'm surprised there was no Hairspray. For some reason i thought that was in your top 10.
