I Gotta Say...

Add, 11p - Ouch! Through most of the day Wednesday, it seems that HillaryClinton.com went automatically to this page. Apparently things went back to normal late tonight as the media picked up on the embarrassing linkage.

I am watching CNN and MSNBC and Fox News and I am AMAZED at the unwillingness of these people to see what is so obvious in Hillary Clinton's behavior.

She is NOT attacking Obama.

She is NOT pushing heavy rhetoric.

And she IS selling the line that she is still in the race because the campaign needs money and it is clear that her camp has not determined how to exit gracefully.

But the media is still pushing her as fighting. And it's really kinda cruel.

Yes, it is a little irritating to me when she says anything but, "It's over... thanks for the fish." But she is doing the right thing right now... really. It is completely fair to expect her to have a few days to decide exactly how she moves along, because they have been so focused on scratching their way to the lead for the last two months that this is not an easy, quick call. It's complex, even if inevitable. It's not the same as a results night drop-out after Iowa.

She's doing the right thing for the first time in months... and the media is treating her like she's still in ranting & raving mode.

Enough. A little grace... please!!!

Isn't it a little unseemly for a self-proclaimed defender of the working class to be begging for monetary donations to a campaign that has no hope of going anywhere? Especially when she's really just a millionaire hoping to get back the money she loaned her own failed campaign?

Dave,

You gotta stop watching all that CNN/MSNBC/FOX negative news pundit crap.

I used to be addicted to it, but have instead switched my daytime background TV viewing habits to ESPN & I don't even really like sports!
I am so much mentally and emotionally healthier for it. Give me Michael Wilbon over Chris Matthews any day. At least when they shout it's over something fun like a game, and not some obvious need to be self-important, which is where you can see everyone of those pundits coming from.

Charlie Rose, PBS, newspapers or credible news sites and NPR are a better, healthier way to get your election coverage on.

Seriously. All that shit is, is negativity after negativity. And call me a new age kook or whatever, but basic physics tell you energy can't be destroyed, only transferred, and all that yelling, and negative emotions, it all seeps into your subconscious.

Next thing you know, you're acting like a dick and are unhappy.

You should know full well how much of it is a hustle to fill air time and how much it does NOT reach the mass of the country.

The more you watch that shit, the more you are drinking the snake oil...

The fact that she has 6 Million+ to loan sickens me. Think of what good the UN could do with that money--much more than Hilary and her minders! I would think alot more of her if she was practicing what she preaches and really helping the people she cares about. She can afford to send us all a "rebate" check, but I would prefer if she would step down and donate it to UNICEF.

" 6 May 2008 – Voicing her deep concern about the reported attacks on villages in North Darfur, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Sudan has called for immediate access to the affected areas to provide assistance and medical evacuation for the injured."

CNN was pushing the Unity Ticket bullshit hard today. Listen, they may look similar in their voting record (with a few important differences), but as far as theme and campaigning... They are night and day, and almost good and evil. It would be a ticket that inspires neither side.

Obama has kept his options open for who he will run with. Good for him.

What THX said.

And who watches the watchmen?

To quote Seinfeld. "You can't just have a little grace. You either have grace or you don't."

"Well, you don't want too much grace or you won't be able to stand."

"You can blow the seminal prisoner class infrastructure out your ass! I'm not knockin' down my goddamn distribution charges."

That's why I don't watch CNN headline news-too much Grace.

Mutinyco: Have you watched Network lately? Saw it again a couple months ago. It's kinda scary how, with each passing year, it looks less like a satire and more like a docudrama.

THX - Have to agree, very wholeheartedly. I used to keep CNN on as background but HOLY FUCK all they run now is election coverage all damn day. Which would be fine, but it's the same 3 items of new developments retold 6 times an hour. I've never seen someone stretch so much nothing into hours of something to this degree.

When you throw in the right-wing turn they've taken with Headline News, I am getting close to avoiding them at all costs. If this was 10-15 years ago we might be able to hold out hope that Ted Turner would come roaring back in to save his creation but it it seems like it's headed towards the dust heap of history fast. Who the fuck needs another Fox News?

You cannot overestimate the amount of ego a person running for president has, on either side of the aisle. How difficult must it be for a person like Hillary to say to herself, "I'm NOT going to be President." Its likely that she's willing to cling to the thread of possibility that there's a big skeleton in Obama's closet yet to be exposed.

Posted by: mysteryperfecta [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 8, 2008 10:14 AM

What kind of skeleton? Like, a dead body?

Posted by: Stella's Boy [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 8, 2008 10:50 AM

Like a skeleton of Cadavra.
