Another good example of why there should be tax breaks or some kind of compensation for those who take parenting classes and regularly have mental health emotional intelligence tests and checkups before pro-creating.

But Nicol's comment just hit a trigger on those stored sentiments that I had been with holding and next thing I knew, I'm typing and venting and hitting post.

I shouldn't talk shit about Emotional Intelligence after than kind of outburst.

And Nicol, I recognize you as another expression of God and we all put our pats on one leg at a time, etc.

But believe it or not, we all operate on vibrations and like attracts like, and I got hooked into your hate vibe with that comment (and many of your others) and I fell for it, and threw some of my own.

So I already apologize for my part, though I stand by some of the things I said about emotional and mental responsibility as a parent.

I shall be more careful next time, but I wonder how much better your life would be if you weren't always so hateful?

The picture is not at all bad. If you know the original in some context. The original is about a guy standing up when no one else wants to stand. He's the guy rising to his feet and deciding to take a stand. If you know the original. The guy does not have the most secure look on his face, but he's standing up anyway.

Once again: go read the cover of Esquire with Obama on the cover. This is why we need someone like Obama at this time. If you want to be cynical. Be cynical. It's your choice but people need to believe again. They need to believe again in their country.

As far as I'm concerned, we're in a post-Rockwell world. He was a great artist, but he came from a very different time and context, and mashing Obama into one of his works seems like an attempt at a hard sell. I said "Reagany" because it feels like the same "Morning in America" kind of thing he excelled at. It kind of reminds me of those pseudo-war ads for Pearl Harbor with Hartnett and Affleck in them.

And mystery... being an asshole and taking one detail of my comments out of context to try to paint a false picture of me doesn't make you smart or effective. It makes you as pathetic as so many other people out there who can't feel good about their arguments based on the actual argument and not spin.

And is that a bit of Jew baiting in there? Not sure... right up to the edge line...

In the end, this why Obama actually can win... because for as stupid as Americans often seem, they have unexpected instincts. They appreciate what they sense to be the truth, which is why the speech on race worked and none of the Wright stuff seemed to be a real problem in exit polls.

Obama comes from my universe more so than any candidate ever. I understand how that appeals to my personal vanity. I also understand, because of that, how he is as human as any of us. I don't need to deify him or turn him into a cartoon. Others seem to.

I sat with a bunch of 60s/70s liberals yesterday that all but called Obama a nigger. They are intensely resistant. They are not ready. But they will all vote for him in the end because of what he stands for as a politician. And they will be proud of themselves for doing it if he wins.

I don't see them as "hateful motherfuckers." I see very few people as "hateful motherfuckers." If I did, I would be limiting my perspective, just as they do.

I kind of wish that there was a facility in this system to force anyone who wanted to comment more than once a week to use their real name, so this community would be transparent. I don't care who is who, but I do think when people go extreme that they should have to stand by their words.

I hope people didn't think I was being hateful. I just thought it was amusing how much it reminded me of any movie set in a small town where people stand up against the big corporations.
