Welcome To The 'Hood, Uncle Pete!
After being as aggressive an anti-blog force as you could find in Hollywood, Peter Bart has given up and joined the ranks of the "reactive, not reflective... who blast it out there... (where) it also becomes very personal."
The bloggers (Bart) know(s) are so hungry for attention that they suffer from attention deficit syndrome.
Unfortunately for them, they can't hijack the front page of Variety.com for days promoting themselves or have their staff publicists push the message out that, hallelujah, an important man is now lowering himself into the digital fray.
But my laugh of the day was when Pete tried his first effort at breaking news - kinda - on the blog, he got a stream of absolutely moronic comments in response, though the number looked a lot better than the average of 8 per entry prior to that.
Maybe Crazy Nikki is right to approve her commenters... at least no one is calling movie stars "short arsed scientologist(s)."

David, those bizarre comments on the Cruise story were almost assuredly as a result of the Drudge Report linking to the story. Same think happens on Finke's site. A link from Drudge means tons of hits, but lots of crazies...
