Funny story for anybody who cares. The guy who played "David Poland" in that short (long short) was actually the lessee of the apartment where one of the Mutiny City News cast members lived, along with, I think, 2 other roommates. So everybody gave that guy their share of the rent each month and he paid the landlord. However, at a certain point, unbeknownst to the roommates, that guy stopped paying the rent and pocketed everybody's money. Then, when the landlord sent an eviction notice, the guy hid it, waited until the last moment, then cut town leaving everybody else with a big surprise. I think they had a week to clear out.

This is kind of sad. Really.

You can be obnoxious. You can type in all caps. You can insult the commenters for months and get away with it.

But when you insult Poland's hair, you're gone.

I missed that... I guess my hair should have read more of the blathering.

I am a very infrequent poster. I browse the blog, and sometimes skim the comments. Not until some months ago did I take notice of Lex, and I thought his post was the most hilarious thing in the world. I thought it was satire. Even still, I said to myself, if that's his real personality, then he's a funny guy. That's still no excuse for spamming the board, lowering the level of discussion.

LexG's act gets old really fast. It's pretty jarring though when he lets go of the "OWNAGE" and actually writes a cogent sentence or two.

I thought that, in character, LexG could be pretty funny, and otherwise, would make interesting conversation. But it was occasionally apparent that his contributions were alcohol-fueled. Seems clear that he has a problem. I know several people currently sabotaging their potential with alcohol abuse. Its a shame.

While I was always able to ignore Lex when needed, the best part of that cut n paste stuff above is jeffy mac still chiming in feeding the troll. Finally Lex-in a drunken stupor-outlasted him as jeff wisely went to bed.

The only thing missing that would crystalize this Hot Blog commentary over the past 6 months is Kami Camel's shrieking about how gross Lex is and THX condescinding someone.

But it looks like a clean slate so lets move on.

I know that I, for one, have always come here to have intelligent discussions about movies. Most of the time, that's what I get here (and even when I don't post, I'm always reading the discussions that are being had). However, it's disconcerting that some folks in here think that their 'personalities' are more important than the content of their posts. I like a lot of the posters here and the community is part of the reason I continue to read and respond and I don't mind a tangent or two at all. But really, let's remember why we come here in the first place: to talk about film.

Maybe I'll be coming around a bit more often now, as I agree completely with Noah. Unlike jeffmcm, I don't enjoy having to combat this kind of inanity on a daily basis, and certainly can't ignore it when I'm here. So I've scaled back a lot since the arrival of CapsMan.

Good riddance, and good work, DP.

Maybe now Lex can put his money where his mouth is, and devote all the time he was spending here bragging on something constructive.

I must say, those posts just look like another night in LexLand to me. I do understand the frustration of those who can't stand him, but it's not like he has truly hijacked the blog and made it unreadable. The film discussion here dies only if you bail instead of simply ignoring the posts you don't like.

Lex, I hope you're sober, because I'm going to bring up Maggie Q now. I think that she (and you) owe me big time, because I did a rewrite on her first "big" English language film, Manhattan Midnight, starring Richard Greico. Clearly, my brilliant tweaks gave her the necessary material with which to impress the producers of MI:3, Live Free or Die Hard and, uh, Balls of Fury. The only credit I got was a "thanks" in the end crawl, but I think she knows the truth. I'm sure if I had a MySpace page, she'd hit me up.

FYI, I recently noticed I got banned on hollywood-elsewhere because I posted some facts about Jeff's mistreatment of festival volunteers at a recent fest. His chickens are coming home to roost it seems and it's about frigging time.

I'd have to guess that at least half them clicked on the link to this thread, to the HOT BLOG, out of curiosity. Which means it's possible that I personally got David HUNDREDS of hits today from people who might otherwise not visit the site or even be aware of it.

With that kind of publicity, shouldn't he be encouraging me to drink-and-post more? Obviously he's an intelligent writer and may not want the "bad" attention, but come on, the HOT BLOG getting a shout-out to potentially 1,300 new readers couldn't have hurt.

And for the record, that's the second time my antics have made Defamer, not to mention the time that I had a Vanity Fair blog piece devoted to my Hot Blog rantings.

Wells has gone censor-happy of late, so I haven't been able to discern whether the familiar faces have actually been banned or just tired of his grumpy-old-man antics.

I mentioned he was 60yo. He said he would un-ban me if I promised to never, in any form of media or conversational form, repeated that information because it would harm his business.
