I haven't gotten past the credits, so maybe it'll be explained as an in-joke... but who the fuck is John David Gordon?

Nah, it's just a mistake, no in-joke.

Otherwise, good interview, if a bit too industry.

I was being facetious.

Very, very cool interview. Especially the Flowers In The Attic/Robert Davi tangent you two went off on for a second there. It's kind of fascinating that the guy who made "Snow Angels" and "Undertow" would cite "Tango and Cash" as one of the great buddy picture.

And now I'm eternally pissed that I can't see "Gravy Train", since I'm a huge fan of Stacy Keach's 70's films (The Killer Inside Me, The Ninth Configuration, etc.)

Hi five on the no texting during movies tip! I don't know what I find more annoying, that or people who put their feet up on the chair in front of them. No one thinks you're special. No one wants to look at your feet waving out the corner of their eyes. What planet are such things acceptible? Move the F- back there.

The IMDb message board for Gravy Train (aka The Dion Brothers) has a couple of bootleg sources for the movie for anyone feeling interested (and brave).

He's so freakin' hot. There, I totally said it.

t. holly totally crushing on the dgg man! he's not really my cup of tea - not scruffy enough, but throw him out in the woods for a week and you never know - but i can see the attraction, t.holly, he's very cool)

i'm getting the impression that david poland is down with the pineapple

Read Heat reference for the win, David.

Anyone notice hoe Green didn't get Poland's attempt at ironic-hipster humor when he asked if was going to turn his stage adaptation into an "inonice" one?

Could David Gordon Green be the last sincere filmmaker on the planet? The Crystal-Hines Running Scared IS a terrific cop-buddy movie. It's one of the best widescreen action movies from the Summer of '86. It also has great turns by Pantoliano and a lean and mean Jimmy Smits.

Also, the prison section from Tango & Cash is classic action-comedy.

I wonder if Green is a fan of Lock Up?

Green wrote the intro to "Seagalogy: A Study of the Ass-Kicking Films of Steven Seagal," a new book by AICN's Vern. In an interview, Vern said he thought it would be funny to have indie god Green, a friend of a friend, write the intro as a joke, but was surprised to learn that Green is actually a fan of such stuff.
