7:45a, Friday - Apparently, The Man doesn't want you to know about Black Dynamite. At 6:23 am the YouTube upload of the trailer was pulled down for violating community standards. That dirty mutha@&*$(&@!!!

But The Google Man is comin' to the rescue!

Here's a link...

If only the Shaft remake had been half as fun as this trailer.

If the A-Team movie ever happens, it should be done period-style like this.

Luke, I agree, that would be the best. It would never happen, because when studios make $100m+ movies, they need to appeal to teenagers, and teenagers aren't into period kitsch. And I think the last HUGE summer tentpole-style movie that tried to set itself in a period was League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and we all saw how crappily that turned out.

That may be, but it really wasn't the period setting per se that made that movie so crappy.

lyt -- re: 'a-team'...you're right but it isn't going to happen (frankly, i'll be surprised if the movie happens at all)... i interviewed steve cannell last week (for his new book, 'on the grind') and he said the 'a-team' script is contemporary, singleton is out, no director and no cast (despite the ice cube rumors)...

i actually got the impression that the 'greatest american hero' script is on a faster track than 'a-team'...

Starsky and Hutch went the full period approach and I thought that worked out pretty well.

You could just try the film's website.

Word is the movie does not live up to the trailer. Just one joke stretched out over 90 minutes.

I would like to disagree with "the word" and say that the midnight screening of this movie was a riot. My concerns that it would be a drawn-out, tired joke were quickly allayed. Movie is a little long, but super-smart. Sanders and White nailed the tone. This succeeds where GRINDHOUSE failed -- it succeeds as both a loving homage and an entertaining, stand-alone entity. Solid!

Bluelouboyle is either working for the jive ass turkeys "selling drugs in our community" or the "honkys in the CIA."
Cuz the "word is" this movie kicks ass like a motherfucker.

Or, to put it another way...
Follow this Google search for "Black Dynamite review" and read the word:

Only one review is less than loving.

I can't describe the pleasure that my 50 or so viewings of this since I first saw its website a few months ago have given me. I had no idea Michael Jai White had this in him, or how much I needed him to.

I think I just watched the entire picture!

Well, that certainly has the potential for awesomeness, what with Captain Kangaroo, Anamorphic DuoVision and being rated "R-ruh." Looks more down and dirty than I'm Gonna Get You Sucka.
