In Closing...
"Fox News representatives and Roger Friedman met today and mutually agreed to part ways immediately. Fox News appreciates Mr. Friedman's ten years of contributions to building foxnews.com and wishes him success in his future endeavors. Mr. Friedman is grateful to his colleagues for their friendship and support over the past decade."
I have to say, I am amazed by the sympathy some have shown towards Mr. Friedman finally being hoisted on his own petard of long-standing. If this makes you think less of me, so be it. If you know what I know about the man and his work, this makes you either remarkably generous or remarkably foolish.
As I have written before, I expect Roger to rebound quickly with as nasty a website as any gossip site we have ever seen, except for those who line his Ziplocked pockets with food and access, competing more than he has with Ms Finke, his natural competitor in this arena. And while he will never cause the tumult inside the movie beltway that Nikki does, he has a real shot at being much more widely popular, given that his interests are broader and more celebrity focused. TMZ would be well served, given their moral position in this business, by hiring him.

How about a list of the Top Ten Rotten things Friedman's done in his career so we can all catch up to your bandwagon? The writing in his Wolverine column was bad enough to keep me from reading him again even if he'd kept his job, but I am curious about the list of sins you're keeping on him like Santa Claus with a grudge.

I'd be interested in what Hallick asked for too, one of my big curiosities has always been not having really any of the context in this matter (or other similar ones).

I completely removed Friedman from my radar screen when he got indignant about not getting early access to "Valkyrie" after bragging to everyone how much he was going to hate it before seeing it. Then, when they didn't invite him to the press screening, he went all "poor me" on everyone. The guy's just a gutless, clueless suck up with an over-inflated sense of worth and power.
Sadly, he won't go away and I agree with DP in that he'll be like Finke East. Bringing class to the bizz across the States...it's Roger and Nikki!!

There were some leaked emails of a conversation between him and Mariah Careys´s manager. Her manager had hired him to make a "negative spin" about Madonna. The email adress in the eamils is exactly the same as in the emails about you, which you got confirmed was real. They also look exactly the same so imo if the emails about you where real then the "Madonna emails" has to be real to.(I hope you remember what I am talking about there were some leaked emails he had written about you in 2007). In these emails he adimts that he has been writng "reviews" about conserts which he never even attened etc. I am not going to post it because it has their email adresses visible in the eamils but it is absolutely hilarious. He is just writing whatever this person wants him to wright in his column.
I will give just a few examples without eamil adresses:
XXXXX
I’ll let you know in a couple of weeks. I’ll attend one of the dates for sure. Speaking of concerts, did you check out my review of Madonna at Coachella this morning? I wasn’t there—and wouldn’t go there if you paid me to—but had a lot to say about it, including the fact—well maybe not—that she was booed off stage. Someone from Warner Bros. called me about it this morning and was really pissed. I was laughing my ass off!
XXXXX
I didn’t attend the show but did a little negative vibe type thingy in my column this morning. However, I have to be honest with you regarding something I’m very upset about: Somehow, our conversation about my upcoming review got into the media. There was a Chicago radio station—B96 I think—that gossiped how Mariah was upset about her poor ticket sales and hired a gossip columnist to plant in a negative piece about Madonna’s tour. This was last week—before my column even appeared. Dan called me about it this morning and I cooled things down. I’ve received several emails about this as well.
Benny, it is very important that our conversations stay between us. I’m not accusing you of telling anybody or doing anything, but stuff like this can get me in a lot of trouble. You know that I love working with both you and Mariah, but I love my job more than anything.
Because of the suspicion, I cannot do a review of Mariah’s concert dates. I will be more than happy to attend and party with you two, but my discussion of her tour will be very minimal. I hope you understand.

Here is another one:

I am going to try to make Mariah’s opening in Miami. Even if I can’t, just tell me what’s in the show and I’ll write a review of it the next day. But I’m going to try my best. I will definitely be there for all her MSG dates.
He sure deserved to get fired. But you seem like an honest person and I think very highly of you. (Please exuse me if I don´t spell correcly english is not my first language).
