Who am I to judge, and I understand that Jackson is indeed one of the biggest names ever in popular music. And I certainly had a cassette of Thriller that I played round-the-clock in 1983, and his stuff will live on forever, etc, etc, etc...
But wouldn't you feel, I don't know, kind of TACKY going to this Staples deal?
If you didn't know Michael Jackson personally, as is the case with 99.97% of the people who will be in attendence, isn't it kind of arrogant? And, considering it's just turned into a big-party atmosphere where people are going just to socialize and probably looking to hook up or just to see what the commotion's all about... isn't it also kind of disrespectful in a way, turning what's essentially a wake into the Lakers Day Parade?

The family made 17,500 tickets free to the public through a lottery, and 100,000 are expected in all. Pretty big name line-up of acts too.

I guess Michael Jackson and "dignity" were never synonymous, so let them have their party. Will there be tigers? I like tigers.
