Amusing Anecdote Of The Day

At the New York premiere of Inglourious Basterds, the clever use of sponsors to cover premiere costs - per the norm at most studios now - continued, including Hugo Boss.

You mean, the Hugo Boss that designed uniforms for the Nazis?

I doubt that this was a piece of comedic mischief by either the sponsor or sponsee... because if it was, you can be sure that Hugo Boss would have been milked for being a bigger sponsor as the featured style gurus behind the film's many Nazi fashion highlights. And oh, the knock-offs!

One more premiere is coming... but I don't think Hugo Boss is green enough for this one.

Maybe they can catch BMW with their guard down before then.

One thing you can say about Roth, he may make scummy movies, but damn, them's some natty threads.

It's nice to see that some dudes still dress up to go to a premiere. I remember a few years ago I was at a premiere (black tie optional, no less!) and I saw Brad Garrett slumping down the red carpet, wearing wrinkled jeans and some sort of rumpled tunic. Props to Eli!
