Press Release - Mike Leigh Starts A New One
The only thing the press release doesn't address is the death of Simon Channing Williams, Leigh's producing partner on all of his films since 1987's The Short & Curlies. No doubt, the death, in April, from cancer was anticipated as Leigh went through his process of working through this story. No doubt, Leigh will bring all of his forces to bear on the work. No doubt, the loss will make it all a little less happy an experience, though perhaps an influence on the work in some positive ways.

I'm bummed I don't see the names Sally Hawkins and Eddie Marsan on there. Their performances in happy-go-lucky are legendary in my book.

Karina Fernandez! The dance teacher from HgL will hopefully have a bigger role this time. She was so good in that tiny role.
