Trailer - Black Dynamite
It's funny... I LOVE this movie... and this trailer very cleverly makes it look like a real blaxploitation film... but it's a comedy... and while this trailer has moments that are funny, it takes a subtle piece of work and makes it drier than a 2000 year old mummy.
And the retro DP/30 is here...

Poland only posted and criticized this because I said the sucky Inglourous Basterds trailer was sucky, and said this one rocked.

Not quite that simple, Wreck.
1. I don't really care what you think of the IB fake trailer.
2. I am okay with this trailer... but it's not representative of the film. As I wrote, it's clever, but do you think it will intrigue more people or fewer people than a trailer that focuses on the comedy? For me, it's fewer. But you are welcome to an opinion.
It might also interest you to know that Sony has been quite aggressive about disappearing the original trailer that was more comedy oriented.
Or you can just think it's all about you...

Dave thanks for posting this. I thought the original trailer was excellent and much more successful than this one. It's a very strange decision for Sony. I didn't like the film as I'm not a fan of faux cheese but the original trailer served the film much better.
Personally I'd rather see DANGEROUS MEN again which effortly does what DYNAMITE strives so hard to be.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of intentional camp either. Just sems sort of lazy. And as someone who sees a number of indies where it's even worse, I'm pretty tired of all of these guys who watched 70s movies and therefore have to replicate them for our benefit.

Actually, this is even older than the trailer Sony has been disappearing- checking the YouTube clip shows me this trailer was posted a year ago, pre-Sony acquisition. I even suspect it was shot before the film, as several of the scenes here use different actors in the final cut...

"Or you can just think it's all about you..."
Naturally, I ALWAYS think it's all about me.
That said, I would argue that anyone who's interested in this type of film would respond to a straight up homage or a more comedic campaign equally. Basically, fans of blaxpoitation will see this film no matter what, and all others will avoid. The content of the marketing campaign is irrelevant.
