I'm not a huge SNL fan, given, but this was one of the worst episodes I've ever watched. Painful.

Butler was an incredibly game host, but after three AWESOME episodes (Megan, Reynolds, Drew), this past weekend's was a pretty mixed bag. That Hader alien sketch was just kind of unpleasant, The Rock Obama went on for HOURS.
BUT "What Up With That?" was THE skit of the show, hands down.
And Shakira was MEGABONER TIME. DAMN.
Also, anyone ever notice that Chris Elliot's daughter is S M O K I N'?

The Hader alien thing was hilarious last year when The Rock hosted, but it just felt flatter this time. Speaking of which, I can't imagine that Butler was too happy with Dwayne Johnson pretty much stealing his thunder before Butler could even do his opening monologue. I'm no fan of Butler (did no one tell him over the last five years that he can't sing?), but I took no joy in watching him bomb and bomb hard last weekend. He was obviously overjoyed to be there and he was 'game', so his failure elicited more sympathy than anything else.

WHAT'S UP WITH THAT
WHAT'S UP WITH THAT
Sudekis' red-Adidas's pop-and-locking/running man dancing plus Keenan's goofy song = most random and giddy six minutes of absurdity in ages.
Also props to Hader's LINDSAY BUCKINGHAM at the end when he shrugs off getting bumped 12 times.
GOOD SKIT.

It was a terrible skit. It's yet another variation on the talk-show spoof where the guests never get to speak because the host keeps interrupting, e.g., "The Barry Gibbs Talk Show" and the various "McLaughlin Group" take-offs. With the last two grown-ups, Darrell Hammond and Michaela Watkins, gone, Andy Samberg and the rest of the arrested-development cases have totally taken over the show. Feh.
